DURATION:  Approximately 2.5 hours Get ready to be inspired as you visit the famous Jewell Gardens & Glassworks to explore the spectacular grounds and taste some of their wonderful garden recipes along with Alaskan wines. Your motorcoach will drop you at the door of one of the most beautiful organic gardens in all of Alaska. Stroll this unique northern show garden as your knowledgeable guide shows you the unusual varieties grown in Alaska and just how quickly flowers and vegetables can mature to enormous proportions in "the land of the midnight sun." If you’re lucky, you may even have a chance to witness hand blown glass being created in Alaska’s only public glassblowing studio! Your guide will also acquaint you with the many herbs and vegetables that are harvested and utilized by the garden’s renowned chef. After touring the garden, it's on to a cooking demonstration using fresh, organic ingredients from the garden. Sip Alaska made wine as you discover just how easy it is to cook from the garden as the chef demonstrates recipes for garden-fresh herb scones, a rhubarb treat and a seasonal soup. Taste what is made, and learn how to add color and flavor to your cuisine with edible flowers. The goal is to inspire both the gardener and the cook in you!
